“Just let it go.”
“Move on.”

Because trauma doesn’t live in the mind alone - it lives in the body, in the nervous system, and in the patterns we've adopted to protective ourselves from further hurt.

Trauma reshapes your stress responses.
Whether you freeze, fawn, fight or flee — your body is doing its best to protect you, based on what it learned long ago.

These responses aren’t random.
They’re ancient survival patterns, passed down through generations - from a time when danger looked like the threat of being killed by wild animals

Your nervous system doesn’t know the difference between emotional overwhelm and physical danger.
It just senses 'unsafe' — and acts accordingly.
